Anesthesiologists are doing JUST pain management fellowship and they are doing an ADVANCED pain fellowship wow....
Or lawyers and paralegals. Can you imagine how absurd it would be for a paralegal to insist on being your lawyerDo pilots deal with flight attendants thinking they can do the pilot’s job?
Physicians sure have become a tepid, feeble lot.
Are you guys okay with pain CRNAs being pumped out by the dozens (via online training) every year to do 90% of your job? If not, what are you going to do about it?
Yes, I am aware of at least one. In New Jersey, decades ago, physicians prevailed in getting a state Supreme Court ruling that anesthesiology is the practice of medicine thus preventing CRNAs from practicing independently. About NJSSA - New Jersey State Society of AnesthesiologistsI had an older anesthesiologist tell me PM&R stole pain from them. Now pain's creeping into surgery with no pushback other than a society statement. Has there ever been an example where creep was stopped?
You sound like one of my old anesthesia attendings who now talks about the good ole days. I would not underestimate this it’s completely different situation from PMRView attachment 392022
