An older, senior, veteran friend of mine scolded me once for saying
Happy 4th of July instead of Independence Day. He said that saying
"4th of July" was just repeating a date but saying "Independence Day"
made us remember our freedom and the people who fought for it at home
and abroad. It did make me rethink how important an anniversary it
really is.
I am wishing you all a great, fun, and safe day (future pharmacists missing finders due to fireworks mishaps would not be "a good thing").
Strange fact: Did you know that both John Adams (our second President
and Founding Father) and Thomas Jefferson (our third President, author
of the Declaration of Independence, and Founding Father) both died the
exact same day: July 4, 1826?
(I was a History major so I eat this stuff up : ).)
