I was just wondering what you guys thought was your hardest prerequisite for pharmacy school....For me, Anatomy or Calc II.

I didn't know Calc 2 was a pre-requisite ... maybe for a bachelor's but what school requires Calc 2?

organic for me....

and you need calc 2 for temple

Purdue requires Calc2 but only if you enter without a bachelors.

Ochem took a lot of time, but I really liked it. Anatomy took a lot of studying. Biochem is killing me right now!

ochem is kicking my ass right now

Calculus II was a nightmare for me, only because I took Calculus I two years before that.

I've put more work into Organic Chemistry than any other class...

I hated genetics! Ninety percent of the time I was in that class I was clueless about what the professor was talking about 🙁...

I love organic chem though 😍

I actually feel like o-chem was a big build up of horror stories for nothing. Yeah there is quite a bit of stuff... but it's just putting a round peg in the round hole kinda thing. Learn the why behind whats happening and your good to go.

physics is tough for me. I like it, and I'm doing fine in the class.. but wears my head out trying to get it all squared away in my brain.

I'm hating physics right now🙁...only because my professor gives us a ton of hw each week.

I completely agree. I was really scared to take ochem, but it ended up being one of my favorite classes. You just got to put the time into it!

I thought organic chemistry II and microbiology were the most difficult courses. I enjoyed both courses, but you have to put a lot of time in to understand the material.

Anatomy and BioSci II required the most memorization, but the material wasn't difficult at all.

One of the schools I was planning on applying to required Calculus II...North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. Thank goodness I've been accepted elsewhere since then so no other pharm schools will take a hard look at this grade...hangin' on to a B so far, but the final looms...Calc II is the personally the most challenging class I've ever taken. Tons of HW and the material is difficult for me...Calc I was cake compared to this. I now have a ton of respect for mathmeticians...can't even imagine the info that comes after the Calc 3 and Diff Eq classes!

O-Chem could be difficult if you don't like the material, but I'm assuming most people going into pharmacy tend to not mind the workload so much for that class since this provides the basis for much of what we'll be studying in pharm school.

I enjoyed my calculus classes.

Physics was the worst, but that was probably due to the instructor making the class unpleasant when it didn't need to be.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with you on the ochem. After the first exam, I thought all the stories I heard were true, but I think my ochem professor was just trying to weed out the students who weren't serious about taking the class. I thought the next 2 exams and the final were not as bad as the first exam. I still did a ton of studying in that class (probably the most I've done prior to pharmacy), but its not like it was impossible or anything like the horror stories I've heard about it.

Physics was pretty tough for me. It was the only science lecture class that I got a B in (B+ actually, but still a B); luckily, it was not a pre-requisite for my pharmacy school.

I liked my calc 1 class, I had the most awesomest professor; I actually wanted to go into mathematics for a little while after taking that class. Then I took calc 2; I had such an a**hole for a teacher in that class; I dropped out of it pretty quickly. Spent the rest of the summer playing drums... one of the best summers I had in college ever. Best decision I ever made dropping out of that class.

I really liked my anatomy 1 class--I had a really good professor in that one too. In fact, almost all of my professors at Indiana University were good; that is one great university. After going to a few other colleges, I really miss it. I had to take anatomy all over from the beginning once I moved to the west coast because they do A&P I/II over here while in the midwest it's anatomy and then physiology. Still liked it, but not as much as my first anatomy class.

Actually, I think the most difficult class I have ever taken was a media theory class called "Production as Criticism". I think I was averaging about a C or a low B toward the end of it (all the while studying a lot for it). I actually went and talked to my instructor about trying to raise my grade in it (only time I ever did that); he really helped me out. Gave me a lot of guidance on my final paper that I had to write in the class. (I'll never forget that. I had to watch Training Day about ten or twelve times; I will never ever watch that movie again). I miraculously ended up with and A; it was one of my greatest achievements. (I think my instructor saw how hard I was working on that final paper, and that's why I got that grade).

I thought the Chemistry stuff was pretty fun....even though I didn't try hard in them and got Bs, except for Ochem when I got As....Yeah people do make a big fuss about O-chem but it seriously makes a lot of sense. I thought anatomy was terrible...UGH....that's when I decided to not become a doctor. And when I took O-chem, that's when I decided to get interested in Pharmacy.....and I LOVE BIOCHEM!!! OMG...that class was so fun....🙂😍...but Multivariable Calc was the only C I got in in terms of prereqs.....;;sigh;;🙁👎

calc and biochem 2 b/c those were the classes that i got c's

I thought organic was going to be hard as well... I'm actually taking it right now and I completely destroyed the first exam haha (But I studied a ton).

Math is not my strong point and thusly physics raped me pretty bad. I know Evolution is not a prereq but that class is pretty tough (taking it for BS biology)! Lots of conceptual (not the typical general biology memorization) and open ended questions on exams...
