OMFG!

-liberals tend to excuse liberal racists comments while crucifying conservatives who make racists comments.

-The context of the comments was the electability of Barack Obama. Reid felt that his light skin and speaking style and tone would make him more palatable to a predominately white electorate. Not unreasonable conclusions and other than the use of the word "negro" nothing to get upset about. Except that statements about race tend to upset lots of people.

Ain't that the truth.

Coincidentally, the "crucifixion of Sarah Palin" is being explored on "60 Minutes" right now.

See: Trent Lott and Strom Thurman birthday celebration. Lott didn't even say anything racist. All he said was "things would be different" if Strom Thurman would have been elected President. NAACP was all over that...

It's funny because his light skin and the way he spoke were exactly what darker-skinned black people were taking shots at until Bill screwed up Hillary's chances w/ his comments in South Carolina. Speaking from experience; educated, lighter-skinned blacks have to fight this issue all too often.

Alex, your posts are always dead-on.

Also, I just noticed the irony of dr doze's post. Anyone else "get it"? Good, doze. Good. 😉

Crucifixion is soooo 2000 years ago. The least the librul media could do is release her in polar bear country handcuffed to a lame moose or something.

Haha.

It was actually a pretty interesting, and pretty fair, piece. She just wasn't up for the job at the time she was nominated. And, it talked about how much they tried to groom her in such a short period of time. It's probably available online somewhere, if anyone is interested in trying to find it...

And, if Obama had been a Republican, he would have been crucified by the NAACP, et al for not being black enough.

In his praise of Strom Thurmond, Lott basically said that things would have been better if segregation had endured. Pretty racist in my book.

Reid's statement, while using offensive language, was not likely meant to be offensive and is pretty much agreed as correct by most observers anyway. He should apologize for stupidity in using the word "Negro", and for apparently not knowing any black people, but he doesn't need to resign.

Change the channel dude - watch something else than MSNBC....
