U guys remember some undergrad schools have notorious reputation for harsh grading system. (Others have inflation issue!)

However, as it's a D related forum, I am not interested in that kind of things.

Instead, I want to share any info regarding the harshness of grading system in US D-schools.

Do u happen to know which schools have harsh grading reputation?

My answer would be all schools with letter grades.
Any specific schools? New information? Anything? Anybody knows any schools with P/F grading system, which still have harsh grading reputation? (Ex. Pass grade is really really difficult..something like that!)

😀

most are letter grading...I think some schools have different % systems though. For example, here at UDM...to get an A requires a 94+...if any other school has this type of policy then you are aware of how much it sucks.

It's really happy to share such information with you.

I remember some other schools were simliar.

However, I am looking for some schools with the most harsh policy.

Btw, during my interview at Columbia University, the interviewer told me the first two years at Columbia is really really difficult.

So, I said "I know". Hm.. they have P/F grading system.

Maybe 94+is Pass? Can anybody talk more about Columbia regarding this issue?
Again, I am looking for some schools with harsh grading policy.

94+ is not the pass cut off for Columbia. I heard it was 70%, which seems low, but you have to consider the test quality. If it were 94 that'd be unreasonable and their class would NP out. Truth is, Columbia doesn't tell what that cut off is, you tests are graded, and you never know your %age, the machine is programed and it just spits out P/NP. They never record a letter grade and pride themselves on this issue. Justifiably, when one looks at their avg board score! Amazing

Again, I am looking for some schools with harsh grading policy.

I'm not sure if I see the point in this question. D-schools are tough no matter where you go. If you're interested in residency or something, do some research and find the % of students that do residencies, avg board scores, etc.
