I just got an interview at Harvard 🙂eek🙂 and they sent this form with course requirements. I'm looking at the gen chem requirement, and it says AP credit that enables you to take upper level courses can be used to satisfy one semester's worth only. Does this mean that despite having taken a year each of classroom organic and biochem (and being a biochem major), I still need a semester of classroom gen chem? seems silly... I'm going to call and ask Monday, but was anyone else in a similar situation for Harvard? I could have sworn I addressed all the AP credit issues at the schools I applied to, but who knows.

Also, I guess I have to request a copy of my AP scores to be sent to them... does anyone know what the turnaround is like on that? thanks to anyone who can help!

I took one semester of gen chem and used biochem to fulfill the other semester. None of the med schools I've been accepted at have complained yet. And no one said anything at Harvard.

Congratulations on the Harvard interview.

Congratulations on the Harvard interview.

thanks!! i didn't make this thread just to brag about it, i swear. i can't help but wonder if they made a mistake... they did spell my name wrong in the email.

Sure you didn't. 😛 Congrats anyway.

Either way, it shouldn't be a big deal. I don't think they'd make you take Gen Chem, but you may have to take another upper level course instead.

Wait until you get in - then you'll really wonder. I still think it's a big cosmic error on their part to have let me in. Congrats on the interview!
