Haha, they're pretty smart... but not smarter than the swine flu. But seriously, that sucks. Especially if you got if from a patient.
The whole swine flu debacle is totally blown out of proportion. Media sensationalism at its best. My parents said they already canceled classes for a couple of weeks at schools back home. 🙄
People, just wash your hands, cover your mouths when you cough or sneeze and we'll all be fine.

Finally, some one said it ! 👍
In honesty though, it's prudent to err on the aggressive side when dealing with "unknown" strains as such, since Public Health officials and governments will always be judged on their actions in retrospect (KELLY CLARKSON !!!! I mean KATRINA !). Plus, everyone needs to somehow justify their position and paid salary, courtesy of the American tax payer.

Yup. Dental school, medical school, and even some MIT classes. I'm currently on my last GPR rotation at an off site clinic in Cambridge, and was at the dental school only briefly last Thursday for a seminar, but was told to stay home until tomorrow due to possible contraction of the virus, which explains why I'm on SDN at 8 AM ! Sigh ...

The media wouldn't like that.If swine flu ends up being bad, isn't it better to contract it now anyways so you can get some immunity to it if it roars back later? I say leave the schools open and let 'er rip, let everyone get immunity now.
