Alright so the title pretty much says it all. I have been fortunate to have been accepted into all of these schools and now it is decision time. It is time to put on my Big Boy pants and make a final decision. Which one would you guys choose keeping in mind that as an Alaskan resident Stanford would be a shorter sail back and forth.

Well Oxford isn't accredited in the US so you'll have to come back as a foreign trained dentist and reapply to an accredited program.

I heard Stanford isn't good clinically and the class size is too small.

Yale's program is too clinical.

Harvard's equipment isn't nice and the large class size makes it difficult to interact with the faculty.

Personally, I'm doing the dual degree DMD-DDS that's a joint program with Harvard and Stanford. That way I have both coasts and do not have to worry about the whole DDS/DMD debate.

👍👍

Yale has a dental school!?!! Since when!!????

I just started a dental school in my barn. It is called Howard Harvard College of Dental Medicine. I will accept up to 120 students for the class of 2017. It will be easy to get into and very competitive at the same time good luck applying and send your primary, and, secondary applications ASAP.

If you want to pursue the DMD/JD dual degree program, i would definitely go to Yale. They better prepare you to practice dental law.

If you want to pursue the DMD/MBA dual degree program, i would go to Standford or Harvard. Just depends on if you like the east vs west coast.

I recently heard that the U.S. signed a special bridge program with Oxford where you are allowed to practice in the U.S. once you complete a GPR/AEGD residency. Definitely something to look into! Get to study abroad and get a top notch education and able to practice in the U.S.

Turn down all of them in light of getting into the top notch online program now offered through ITT Tech. You get to go to dental school from home in your pajamas, and you learn your skills by working on virtual patients online. It's better than actually being chair-side because you don't have to listen to the patient complain or smell their bad breath.

University of Phoenix has a great online DDS/DMD dual degree program, and Full Sail University down in Fl has a great 3D/digital dental school as well. However, I really want to see my patients in person, so I think I just might go to CC instead.

DeVry has the best clinical experience in the country. It would put UOP and UDM to shambles in NO time.

When I was at Devry, I did class 1 amalgam restorations in just 1 week and by 2nd year, I had already done 211 RCTs. I also treated about 17 Invisalign cases. Junior year I did a total reconstruction of the jaw and had already treated 13 TMJ cases. Senior year you are not going to believe it. 477 third molar extractions.

I dare any of you to come up with a stronger clinical curriculum. DeVry is the place to be. Did I mention it was also first in the nation for NIH funding? Yea, pretty perfect.

Best of all it is cheap only $114,350 TOTAL for all 4 years.

You should def apply to DeVry School of Dental Medicine; wait a cycle if you must.👍

Online is the way to go. University of Phoenix DDS/DMD ftw.

OP you should go to Stanford to avoid the terrible weather of the midwest and northeast

If you got into all those schools, I'm surprised you haven't gotten an acceptance from Hogwarts School of Dentistry. You use magic to treat patients and with your stats, it seems like you would be a great candidate

Stanford dental? they have dental school? I work there, but I don't know they have it... lol?

omg, yes!

I can't believe you left out Cambridge. Better rowing team, better dental education.

I heard you have to take basic magic courses for 7 years before you even begin dental training. Also, with all the dementors, I think it would be safer to go to Temple.

Don't worry. I got wait-listed at Oxford. I had a 4.0 GPA, 30 DAT, 350 shadowing hours, and and 11 research publications with triple majors in Biomed Engineering, Physics, and Electrical Engineering.

But guess what? I am happier at DeVry School of Dental Medicine. The clinical experience here we are getting is absolutely amazing. Just did my 250th root canal and 496th third molar extraction!!
