Is it true that it takes 5 years to get DMD or DDS equivalent at Harvard?

I believe the program used to be 5 years because of a research requirement that Harvard has. But it is now 4 years, and the required research has been shortened to 8 weeks and is completed during those 4 years.

In my class, only 3 students out of 35 chose the 5 year option. They mostly wanted to spend some extra time doing research or special community projects. Back in the early 90s Harvard was a 5 year program, but that has been gone for several years.
