Harvard requires that you submit an LOR from all of the PIs you have worked under.

I volunteered as an undergraduate research assistant a couple years back. I did not have my own project, and I mainly just helped a graduate student with his project (molecular genetics-worked with cockroaches-I know, whack). My main duties included taking care of the coackroaches and dissecting them for future analysis. I also did some standard experimental procedures(injections, taking observations, analyzing data,etc.).

Would Harvard require an LOR for this type of experience?
 
As long as you don't write it on your AMCAS, you technically won't need one.

But if you do, then you will by their rules.
