Yeah, I wish the Red Cross accepted foreign volunteers. I was looking into traveling to China to help in the earthquake relief efforts, but I couldn't find an organization to accommodate me (visa restrictions). That's a nice thought , though.

Thanks for the info chairmanMao....btw the MSAR does not have 08 accepted applicant stats....I called the admissions office...according to them, the criteria for Canadian students to be successful is not dissimilar to US applicants for admission...however, i appreciate the effort!

This may seem counterintuitive, but the higher ranked the school, the less your international status matters, especially if you attended a Canadian or American undergrad institution. It's harder for international students to get in because it's harder for a school to fund international students, but since most of the higher ranked schools don't really have funding problems, this tends to be less of an issue.

However, MSAR is a much better resource for this type of question.

I call troll...those profiles have been up for awhile and your status is still listed as premedical.

EDIT: Most suspicious post history ever. Half of them are deleted and you said in the North Carolina thread that you are applying right now. OP, just get an MSAR.

Just do a "search profiles" on mdapps for people accepted into HMS year 2008 (and uncheck the "exclude incompleted profiles" box).

1) Spent 3 summers in Mexico helping to start a children's clinic

Took 3 summers to start the clinic? What on earth were they doing the other 10 months if the clinic wasn't successfully started yet? And then the next 10 months? And then the 6 months while you were there as well?
