First off, my apologies if this has already been discussed - though, I did a search on it and didn't find anything.

I stumbled onto this youtube video, and it's titled "Harvard Medical School Commits Fraud." The dude that's speaking is an ex-med student by the name of Ed Ussery and it appears that for some reason, he was kicked out of Harvard Med. I did some google searching, and found out that he has a blog at archmind.livejournal.com I've been looking through his journal/blog to figure out exactly what he did that got him kicked out, but haven't come up with anything conclusive. I also haven't found any news articles about it, yet he makes it sound as if there was a huge uproar over it.

In any case, what's the story on this guy?? Anyone heard of him or the situation?

Well.... it looks like he wants to run for president as well?! I just stumbled onto this other site of his, http://www.archmind.741.com/

On this website, he states the following:

... As you may know, I’ve been attending Harvard Medical School for the last 10 years. I’ve been the target of a smear campaign, which has exhausted my resources. Since it’s expensive to campaign for president, I need to ask you to help me out in this regard...

According to this document, he matched in 98...http://www.hms.harvard.edu/primarycare/chronz/chronicle698.pdf

At best this is old news and not reflective of the times.

Disagree. The youtube video was posted less than 1 year ago. Also, the pdf you linked is regarding student/faculty matches for a mentorship program, not a residency match. I'm guessing something along the lines of clinical clerkship stuff.

This is a relatively recent issue - definitely within the last 1.5 - 2 years.

Point taken, but I think this story reeks. Also, since he was in a student in 98 and was called a medical student in a paper he published in 2002 http://cme.medscape.com/viewarticle/428339 and since he posts a video questioning the veracity of 9/11 where he is sitting with similar background as in the first video, (it just got posted on youtube recently) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4HTolyDeE4 I think it's a good guess to say that this issue is more than 1.5-2 years old and that the 9/11 video may be the reason he got kicked out.

Hmm... I wouldn't be that quick to infer such a causal relationship (his objections to 9/11 resulting in medical school dismissal). There is very little that we currently know about the situation and this person - it would therefore be illogical to simply connect and relate the first two factoids we learn about him.

Besides, even if that were the reason for his dismissal... wouldn't that alarm anyone?? Freedom of speech, anyone?

You keep asking for input...but then you disregard an opinion because it disagrees with what you are trying to infer. 😕

Ummm ... are you this guy??

Ahhh ha! Found something! http://archmind.livejournal.com/63173.html

From what I gather, this guy flunked a class and I think he is blaming it on "racist professors." In fact, his actual failing grade report is also posted here! Craaaazy.

.

Haha, although I wish I could somehow land a Harvard med acceptance like this guy did, I can promise you that I wouldn't screw it up and get kicked out!

Don't schools give you a chance to make up a failing grade in the summer for 1st/2nd years or some other time for 3rd/4th years. I remember hearing from a med student at my school that he can even retake a year if he failed two classes and that its pretty hard to actually fail out of medical school.

EDIT: I think I get it. See if this seems right. When it was time to verify that he could graduate (candidacy for the medical degree) they looked at his file and saw he had a failed class. He claims that he didn't and at some point, the professor falsified the failing grade report and placed it into his file while his attending for the class is a collaborator in the fraud by claiming he failed it when she knows he didn't. And the two doctors did it out of racism?

I don't know why he didn't just retake the class under protest.

Yes, fail one class and repeat, possibly in another state at your own expense. Fail two+ or have an overall failing average (or some other arbitrary cut line) and repeat the year.

EDIT: regarding the topic of the thread, the guy's clearly unbalanced. His blog made my head hurt after skimming a couple of pages. It reads like he just sits down for a couple of hours and vomits out whatever half-formed thought races across his consciousness, usually speaking directly to a television personality, news anchor, or political figure, usually on a first-name basis.

Dude, I agree... finding out that information by reading his posts was extremely painful. He also has a huge sense of entitlement.

But man, what a huge screw up.... he just kissed a Harvard MD away and was forced to settle with an MS... sucks. It was particularly strange because he also mentioned that he was at Harvard med for approx. 10 years... MD/PhD perhaps?

Whatever the case may be, he is tossing some HUGE allegations about specific faculty members as well as the administration. Sad.

the Tron poster in the background of his videos really undermines any points he's trying to make, imo
