I didn't find very many useful old posts on this. The question I have is about housing at Harvard over the Summer. Since summer is only a few weeks, it does not make sense to sign a year's lease. Living on campus costs close to $5,000 for those few weeks, way too much for me! I'll need a studio for me and my girlfriend, so we will need independent bathrooms, etc and are not open to sharing. Any suggestions?

Craigslist occasionally has rooms for rent

http://rotatingroom.com/ is more geared toward the medical student crowd; could be helpful for you. There are a ton of hospitals here so I imagine that there are multiple summer rentals.

What summer class did you decide on taking?

Thanks. Over the summer, I plan to take Expo-25, the first required class.

Required for what? The ALB or the HCP?

HCP does not need Expo of course. Expo is the required class for all other programs, ALB, ALM, etc. at Harvard Extension. Everyone takes it. Very few pass. Even fewer get the grade you need to get admitted. Harvard Extension weeds people out at every stage and only like 1% eventually get the ALB degree. So I am not 100% sure I want to go that way. I am also considering Northwestern's Extension for the ALB which is Northwestern University's alternative to Harvard Extension. They call it School of Continuing Studies and the tuition is comparable to HES. They offer bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, certificates, and also something equivalent to HES' HCP. Living is also better and way less expensive in Evanston than in Boston. More importantly, they look at students like their own. Harvard looks at HES students as step children. So Northwestern does not try to deliberately screw up your GPA like HES does. But I am undecided as my gf has family in Mass. http://www.scs.northwestern.edu/

I find I'm treated quite well in the HCP. Theres also no better city than boston for medicine (save maybe baltimore, but that city is a warzone)

The rotating room link you suggested is useful but it mainly seems to be room shares. I need an independent place over the summer.

Google is your friend. Finding an affordable 1-2 month independent sublet/rental in any city is tough. Craigslist is probably your best bet.

Did you finish undergrad and are retaking english for a better grade? if not why are you posting in the postbac section?
