Hey guys I am a final year medical student from Australia
and I got accepted to one month elective at

Dxstic radiology at Harvard

and

Neuroradiology +MRI at Weill Cornell

and I can't decide.
I thought New york would be nice
but Harvard also sounds nice.

at the same time I don't want to stress out during my elective.
Do you think Harvard would be really stressful??
apparently they will assess me and stuff..

Please help me to make right decision

Are these electives set up by your school and if so, are you required to pay the outrageous charges for Harvard ($3000 USD)? If so, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Are they providing housing? And if not, do you realize how expensive Manhattan and Boston are? Although the exchange rate would be favorable for you.

BOTH electives will "assess you and stuff". Radiology tends to draw more laidback people but Cornell and Harvard would not be known for that. Cornell, as a matter of fact, tends to have a more unpleasant reputation than Harvard in terms of friendliness.

What is your goal? Looking to just get away or to get a US LOR to apply for US residency?

I've just spent a month at Cornell (albeit Rheumatology) and yes it was expensive but I had a great time and New York is a great city. I didn't find the faculty I came across at all unpleasant and if anything it was the students who were a bit unfriendly but I guess it is just because they are all into their studies and the final years were applying for residency.
