has anyone heard from Harvard recently? My application is still under review and it freaks me out just by realizing that it's February already! I've been accepted to other schools and my deposits are due soon. Has anyone received a rejection letter pre-interview? Is it a Harvard policy not to give out rejection letters pre-interview, just holding on to applicants that they are going to reject until the very end of the cycle?

im in the same boat.. i just called them a couple days ago and they said my application is also still under review.. however im already telling myself that i've been rejected so i can avoid setting myself up for a big heartbreak

Same here, only they called me...

I don't know what I want now because I already went to Beantown once for BU; plus, it'll be hard to turn down Haaavaaad if I get in even though they got a lousy rep as a dental school!

I should've applied to one school--less choices, less headaches...

 at least you're honest

The associate dean for academic affairs sent out an email yesterday that all positions for the Class of 2010 have been filled. But I wouldn't worry....there's always the waiting list in case people back out to go somewhere better.

Actually, he's not the only one who has told me that.

That sucks. I was told this past week that there are still many spots open.

One thing that sucks about Harvard is that the people who interview you are REALLY REALLY busy. I interviewed right after Dec. 1 and I was told that my interviewers weren't able to make any of the adcom meetings so my file still hasn't undergone final review. it's been over 2 months. Sucks for people who interviewed with me too. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I doubt it. They kept telling us at our interview that they always keep spots open until the very end so everyone intervieweing, even late, has a shot. I guess they want to make sure they don't pass anyone up.

toofache32, are you for real? why would the associate dean send out an email only to you but not to us? when I called them last week, they sounded like they had more spots open.

Who was the other person? Was it the Associate Dean of Shut the Hell Up?

😛

they probably accepted their normal amount of people and had an unexpected number of people say they were going to attend...at least that's what happened with uconn and why that filled so quickly.

People who get accepted to Harvard don't have to put down a deposit though. They wouldn't know who is coming and who is not. Since not that many people turn Harvard down, they expect most of the students who get accepted will accept their offers.
