None since the e-mail saying they received my app. Seems like they're taking their good old time.

I am very hesitant about applying to Harvard only because I didnt do too well on DAT.

when did you hear back from OSU? are you out of state?
what's your # 1 choice?
Yeah, I haven't heard anything since the e-mail. Oh well, I wasn't really expecting anything to come of this.
Just wondering....
what do you guys think is the lowest GPA Harvard would consider with a 25 on the DAT?
maybe.... 3.9? I might be wrong but I am not joking.
unique applicants with good stats
i think harvard looks beyond the 4.0 gpa and 25 DAT... obviously, you have to have done well, but research experience and EC's are what I think will impress the adcomm. and i'm pretty sure previous research experience is almost a requirement.
Boy do I hope you are wrong because if you are right I am screwed. I know someone who already had her interview and has not research experience according to her Predents.com page.

what about a 23 and 3.8 with some good research
not good enough?

Hey, from what I have been hearing from different people, Harvard seems to care more about recruiting "unique" individuals than people simply with high stats though it wouldn't hurt to have it. If you can stand out thorugh EC or nonacademic areas AND if you really like Harvard, I think you should go ahead and apply. Anywayz, here's my stats.
GPA/SGPA: 3.9/3.9
AA/TS/PAT: 26/25/22

I heard back from them about 2 or 3 wks ago. Yeah, I'm applying from out of state. I stopped by the school, and the campus was pretty nice.
If I can get into DMD/Ph.D. program at MUSC, that's my first pick.what's your # 1 choice?
Have you heard back yet? (assuming you applied)
I haven't heard anything from them since I got the notification e-mail stating they received my application (not necessarily complete).
I've heard Harvard likes good stats, but like others have said, they want unique applicants. I think anyone really interested in Harvard should apply. Spending $100 or so dollars and a little bit of time filling out the secondary (assuming their is one) is all you have to lose. Considering what the cost of your dental education is going to be, it's better to lose $100 that wondering what if?

I heard from them
May I ask you when you submitted your app? Thx!
Congratulations!!
I only applied to Harvard and I am pretty sure I'll get in. But I am gonna decline the offer first and wait till they start begging and sending me a limo to pick me up.
I am waiting until they get me a helicopter...
Wouldn't you know it? So I'm at Iowa yesterday, and who calls my house while I'm gone but Harvard? How far back are they booked?

To anyone who was wondering, I scheduled for Oct. 27. They still have tons of dates open in Nov (plus four more spots available on the day I scheduled, too).
Thanks, and good luck!!! When did you submit your aadsas? For those of us still *HOPING* to hear...

My AADSAS was mailed on Aug 15. I submitted it about three months earlier.
I think that research experience and your desire for MORE research experience/academia actually does make a difference. I interviewed there at the beginning of September last year and had a great time and great interviews. (In fact, both interviewers complimented me and one said something about my "strong academic record" and that she would "express that to the admissions committee".) Then I got rejected the first week in December.
Totally not trying to sound bitter, since I don't think we would have been a good match for each other in any way (though it certainly is an impressive place!), I'm just saying that they seemed to use a lot of criteria beyond your academic record and your personality as assessed in the interview.
I think my main issue was that I had done no laboratory research at all (my thesis was literature-based) and I also expressed that I really wanted to be only a clinician and wanted to go into practice as soon as I could. They pride themselves in their amazing specialty placement/research, so they probably understandably wanted to give the opportunity to someone who actually expressed an interest in doing either of those things.
I definitely wouldn't recommend saying that you'd love research/specialty if that's not your thing....they know who would be happy there and who wouldn't, and with a class of 45, it'd be horrific if you didn't feel comfortable. So just go, have a good time, and trust their judgement!

Put a nametag on your forehead with your SDN handle. It's always fun to see SDN people at interviews.
