I have nothing to worry about, but I was just wondering if this new AMCAS application served any new purpose. in the past i hear they did not ask for contact names and numbers. has anyone had thier volunteer contact or research contacts called?

My PI told me that either Syracuse or Vermont called him (he couldn't remember). He said it was a good sign. That's news to me...

I work at a Boys and Girls Club. We got a call asking about someone applying to UT law who had claimed to have done something like 200 hours of community service. No one had ever heard of him though. Anyways, long-story-short, it turned out that he had been sentenced by a judge to do 15 hours of community service for public intoxication. I don't know what ever happened to that guy, but I imagine UT didn't take him.
