Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has been accepted into the Georgetown SMP program with only GRE scores. I plan to take the MCAT in April but I want to get an application in ASAP because I know that the program is on a rolling admission. My GRE scores were 168q and 155v.

Thanks!

I am a current Georgetown SMP student. I was accepted off the waitlist in July after applying in March with my GRE scores. I had a 313 on the GRE, so your scores are already better than mine. Because I didn't take the MCAT prior to the program, I am now in an iffy situation compared to my peers. I have to take the MCAT somewhat rushed in June to be in the best position when I apply next year for Fall 2015. So with that said, while you can apply with a GRE, I strongly recommend taking it before you apply. You have a much better chance of getting in, and you won't have to worry about it during the program. In addition, you have the strongest chance of getting into Georgetown the year you are actually in the SMP. Without an MCAT, you would not be able to apply next year to take advantage of that.

The only thing to say that opposes that is that the program is excellent preparation for the MCAT. So if you are willing to prepare somewhat beforehand, and then take it soon after completing the program, you'll be fine.

Hope that helps!

May I ask how strong the remainder of your application was?
