Has anyone completed the OD/MBA program at SUNY?

This forum made possible through the generous support of
SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

So far I've heard that no one currently enrolled at SUNY is in the OD/MBA program. One of the faculty member said that as far as he knows, there were 2 students in the past that have done the joint program, and it was very hard to balance between the OD and the MBA side, but they were glad that they did it. This is as much info as I can get.

There are info sessions offered by Baruch College (the MBA program is not offer through SUNY-O, but through this CUNY school), I am going to the session and I will update once I get more details. Also, since the MBA program is not offered through SUNY-O, so the tuition is extra, I don't know how much more though (another joint program--OD/MS, the M.S. research program is actually offered through SUNY-O, therefore, it's free for SUNY OD students)

Any SUNY alumni wanna share ?

Curious if any students on sdn have completed this and if so, how is the time management... doable?

Ive done the MBA and am now in an MPA program (but never concurrently with the OD) What is your interest in the MBA?

I am a SUNY alum though I was not in that program. I knew two people who were....I do not know if those are the two you are referencing.

Both of their programs seemed to center around management of large clinics. One was enrolled in some sort of "hospital management" track while the other seemed to be doing more "community based clinic" track.

Neither of them were doing the program to enhance their ability to open/run a private practice. If that's what your goal is, I'm not sure that that program is the right one for you.
