I am a parent trying to figure out how to help keep my kid out of debt. She's a HS sophomore, but she really wants to be in the PT field. We've saved some money toward college, but it's enough to help with maybe 70% of undergrad or a chunk of grad school, not both, doing the traditional route. So I've been thinking about different ways my DD might get all the education needed without as much of the cost.
Scenario: DD lives at home and gets an AA/PTA, then transfers with Junior standing to a state university (they do that here in NY at SUNY) to finish the BS. I think at University at Buffalo she can still apply to the 3+3 as a transfer student as long as she has the proper prerequisites.
Is this a sensible way to think about this?
