Hello Everyone!
So I am planning on applying to doctor school this summer and I was wondering if it is okay to get a letter of rec (in addition to the required ones from science and non-science profs) from a postdoc I work for rather than the PI of the lab. I was hired by the postdoc to work in this lab a few months ago and I spend the majority of my time interacting with her and she is awesome and feel she could write me a strong letter. Meanwhile, even though he's a nice guy, I don't interact with the PI nearly as much as I do with her and he couldn't speak as much for my character and work ethic as the postdoc could. Has anyone else ever gotten a letter of rec from a postdoc?
Thank You!

I think a good idea would be to have the post-doc write your letter and have both the post-doc and PI co-sign it. It would add more power to the letter.

I agree. And have the postdoc write the letter as "we."
