has anyone ever dropped a course without a medical excuse and received a w instead of a wf?state schools make you bring in documentations. if so please state how you did it.
im taking way too many courses now and feeling burned out.

It is usually up to the instructor. If you explain why you are dropping and have a decent grade in the course, they will usually just give you the W. Sometimes professors are really nice and will give you a W regardless of the situation

yes at normal schools they let you but in cal states they want to keep you in regardless. unless you have a valid excuse like a medical reason or a car accident. one of my buddies said he was working full time and they approved him.

which CSU are u at?

Yes but at my school you had "x" number of days to do it without any questions being asked. I did it within that time frame by filling out a form and submitting it to the registrar.

I dropped a class about two weeks before the end of the semester. I had stopped going to class and thought I had dropped it online and realized very late in the semester that the original drop did not work. I had to get the instructor and the department to approve the drop. They did not mind at all and gave me the W.

Bummer, I've only had to drop (withdraw) from one course. I just asked the professor to sign the form, then I turned it in to the records people and the next day I had a W already listed. I wasn't even asked why, what my grade was-I was asked nothing. Anyway, you obviously are at a school that has much harsher views on W's, so all I can do is wish you luck with it.

Good luck 👍
