My application was already verified under my former name, and I’m a bit worried about potential record mismatches.

I’m planning to update my primary name on my AADSAS profile and my DENTPIN, but for those who’ve done this: do people typically ask writers to update Letters of Recommendation or re-request old transcripts under the new name, or is listing your former name under "Alternate/Former Names" enough?

For now, make sure you have used the Alternate Name entry in AADSAS or other school application portals. For letters, it would help the authors know if you are going by a different name than the one they may be most familiar with. The authors can be forthright about knowing you under your previous name. You don't want an admissions committee member to think that one of your references accidentally sent a letter supporting someone completely different. Name consistency is the adcom's friend here.
