Has anyone heard back from UPenn? When are they supposed to get back to us?

I was talking to another interviewee yesterday, and we think we remember Corky saying something about her being away sometime near the deposit date, so they might be calling us this year. But definitely going to be snail mailing us an notification.

Last year letters w/ dean scholarships were received today by expressmail, regular letters in the US were received on December 2nd. I'm hoping international letters get here by the 2nd, too, otherwise we'll probably have to wait until Monday.
 
I got a packet in the mail today around 11am! It was sent by UPS.
 
I got a packet sent by the normal mail (UPSP?). It is postmarked Nov 29. I didn't get a scholarship offer, but I am taking the acceptance!!! WOOHOOO! I'm located in FL
 
I received a call from Corky that I've been accepted with scholarship....Can't wait to get home and open that packet!😀
 
I can't believe this. I'm in too. 😍😍😍

i have my interview there in like... 10 hours! i hope i get a response back ASAP!
 
Ahhhhhhhhhh! I missed my Corky call but she didn't tell me anything! She didn't pick up the phone when I called her back!!
 
I was told that they haven't filled the class yet and that the committee is meeting again before the holidays. So hope is still out there for all of us who haven't heard yet 🙂.

Haha, I hope so.. I hope I get something in the mail. Not sure why I got a phone call yesterday from Corky, though. I interviewed the same day as you, mc719. :xf:
 
So, for those who interviewed before dec 1st, if we don't hear back from Corky today, is it safe to assume that we are waitlisted???🙁
 
No, Corky definitely said that it's possible that your application is on hold (not rejected or waitlisted) but simply going to be lumped in with all the January applicants to be reevaluated then. Don't lose hope!
 
I picked up Corky's phone call and she didn't say anything about a scholarship 🙁 She said I should decide by January. Typically people who were offered a dean's scholarship would have to decide within two weeks. Gah... And I was so excited to hear people were offered a scholarship via a phone call

I haven't heard anything from penn either. Weird because I thought my interview there went well.
 
Same here. I am getting fairly worried!!!!! Has anyone actually called Corky to inquire about their application status?

I did. She said that they haven't filled the class yet and that the committee is meeting again later this month.

Having you application still "under-review" even post interview is a good thing right? There is still hope to get accepted in January? Is this "under-review" status better than being waitlisted?

I'm not sure what the difference between under review and waitlisted is. Honestly, this has been a humbling experience for me.

I was 100% confident that I would get better results than I have gotten so far. It is frustrating not to know why they didn't accept us yet, but all you can do is wait. My brain is telling me there is still a good shot, but my confidence is pretty low now so I don't feel like I've got a good shot.

I am in the same boat. All these interviews and no acceptances. To make things more hard for me to understand is the fact that many of my interviews seemed to go really well as I got good feedback from my interviewers. It is either these schools are interviewing way too many people or I am seriously missing something!

Reading this thread is actually making me feel better, lol. I thought that there must be something glaringly negative about my application or my interview skills.

I got in too! Got the letter snail mail today.
 
I just got in today!! I found out from calling her lol. No scholarship tho. So for those that havent gotten anything in the mail and didnt get a call the last two days, there is still hope! I still haven't gotten a packet in the mail and received no phone call cuz she said she had a sore throat or something like that so hasn't called everyone. I have been so anxious the last two days that I called at 4:55 today and asked if they are done giving out acceptances for a while.. basically she asked for my name and then told me that I was accepted!!

Really? Whatttt. Both of you were in my interview, too! That's weird.... But that doesn't mean you didn't get rejected. Maybe Corky's still calling but hasn't had the chance. I know they had an interview today so maybe she didn't have the chance to call everyone. Also, she told me she sent out my acceptance packet on Wednesday, which is late. So, she probably sent it to you at the same time, too. I'm sure it's on the way to your homes 🙂

I feel lucky to have gotten the acceptances I did. Mc you seem like an awesome applicant. Hang in there! I'm sure you will get Penn next round 🙂 I feel like this whole process is so unpredictable. Looking back, I am realizing how stupid it was to apply only to 3 schools.

Awesome, ViviPreDent! Some people aren't notified via phone call about their acceptance though, I'm not quite sure how that process goes. I wouldn't say it's stupid because it's not like you didn't get into anywhere and also you saved a bunch of money on apps. At the end of the day, you'll be a dentist and that's what matters. But yes! Hang in there!!!!
 
Got that beautiful envelope yesterday. Not sure if I want to go to the Ivy League party, but damn it's tempting 👍👍

I have the military scholarship in the bag, cost isn't an issue. Hence my dilemma I'm in. <-- Most indecisive person on the planet right here
