Anyone heard from Cincy or Pritzker programs? I know the MD program is interviewing but haven't heard much out of MD/PhD. I read we may have to wait until after Dec1 for Pritzker, but I am unsure about Cincy.

Best of Wishes to all applying

Nope I have not heard from the either schools. I think Prtizker does not start interviews until January, so it will be safe to assume that we will not hear from them until December. I have no idea what is going on with Cincinnati. I found the MSTP administrative staff at Cincinnati to be unhelpful and borderline rude at times. Hopefully, that does not represent the school itself.

I've found this at quite a few schools. Can you imagine being pestered by thousands of neurotic premeds a day? I sympathesize with them completely!

Let me know if you hear any word out of either program.

Well I do not know about that. Schools only have a couple of hundred MSTP applicants. My point was they could have dispensed the same information (or no information in this case) without the little attitude. I do not know I got that from only two schools Cincinnati and U of Maryland (Maryland SOM staff was terrible but the MD/PhD staff is awesome)

I was complete at UC on 8/19 and haven't heard anything back yet. Regarding the staff being rude, I've only found them to be incredibly helpful...maybe we spoke to different people.

I think that you just must have just gotten Laurie at a very bad moment, because in real life she is just about the nicest person in the world. I can say quite confidently that whatever your interaction was, it is not a reflection on the level of support or helpfulness you will find here at Cincinnati.

In general, every school gets a lot of calls asking for information, etc and it is always possible to catch someone at the wrong time. In this process overall, my advice would be to take any imperfect interaction you have with a grain of salt. At an interview I think that you will find the current students in any program more than willing to talk to you about how happy they are with the administration/level of support, and that is a much better gage than any phone conversation you have with the office staff.

First interview weekend here at Cinci isn't until December sometime, and most of the interview dates are in '09... so sit tight, you'll hear.

I've been obsessing about Pritzker for a while now. I thought we might at least hear a decision back from the MD committee on whether our application was reviewed favorably or burned and the ashes thrown into Lake Michigan. I've been complete since 8/7 and have yet to hear back from them.

To those of us who haven't heard back from Pritzker, I'm thinking our applications were forwarded to the MD/PhD adcom, which won't meet until Dec 1st (so much for taking advantage of rolling admissions...), so we won't hear back from them til after then. If this is the case, that's pretty good news b/c then we at least have an MD interview.

*Crossing-fingers for MSTP interview.....*

Yeah, I've been complete since July! I guess the old saying,"no news is good news" fits the situation.

Has anyone started to look at Cincy's mini interview setup just in case MSTP isn't an option? It's a mixture of role playing, actual interview, and on the spot thinking. I am pretty amazed at the whole idea.
