Has anyone straight up asked for an interview before?

Basically, I have an acceptance at out-of-state School A, but want to go to top choice in-state School B. Both DO.

I have other interviews coming up, but haven't heard back from School B yet at all.

Because my SO got admitted to an SOM in the same city as School B and wish to go there, now I really want to go to School B.

Is there a type of email you can send just notifying a school "Hey, I really want to interview with you guys" based on these facts above?

I know there are LOIs for those waitlisted to schools AFTER they interview at a school with the conditions above, but I'm wondering if anyone's just asked for one before.

Call them and ask. I’ve heard of it working out for students whose application was what the school was looking for.

Med students do it to get interviews for residencies as well. Just be sure to have tact.

Are you married, engaged, or just dating? It probably makes a pretty significant difference on whether or not this tactic would work

Frankly I'm not a fan of these types of inquiries to schools as it makes you sound like you're simply asking "can I cut to the head of the line?"

I hit up my current school and told them I would 100% attend if given the opportunity prior to interview... it worked.

You could also ask them if there is an update to the status of your application.

It shows interest in the school and probably gets your application looked at.
