Submitted most of my secondaries within two weeks of receiving them and was completely done by the 5th of August.

Presumably, this is 'early'? I thought I wouldn't likely hear from schools until late August at least. However, perusing the school-specific threads has made me anxious.

Guess I just want some reassurance. I have great ECs, an interesting life story, and high stats (3.8+ overall, close to a 4.0 BCMP, in between a 34-37 MCAT). Other people are in my shoes, right? I am kicking myself a bit for not "pre-writing" secondary answers.

Am I just being neurotic?

Heh. Heh. :ninja:

I'd guess that 80-90% of all applicants have yet to get IIs. Most probably arent even verified yet. Dont worry about it. SDN is super self-selecting.

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not.

How do you have in between a 34-37 MCAT?
Smile. I have a score within that range, but am choosing to retain a little anonymity.

That is what I figured; certainly there's some bias in reporting mostly good news on the site.

Better just withdraw now.

/s

I haven't met anyone in real life that has gotten an interview invite this early. I know plenty of people that have gotten admitted to medical school. Chill.

So much entitlement, so little time.
I was about to freak out to my advisor IRL about not hearing back from my dream schools yet...and she smacked some real life sense into me by saying the more neurotic and "freak-out" an applicant is, the more it will show in the interviews they actually DO receive, which will make the applicant come off as immature, insecure and entitled.

I've gotten secondaries from every school I applied to (20 MD)...I was nervous that they were auto-sending...

I think people kinda get disheartened on the school-specific threads because on an internet thread, a few looks like a lot. For example, if 8 people in a row have posted that they got IIs, what a lot of people see is a screen full of IIs and: "Oh my gosh, why don't I have one?! Everybody has one!!!" In reality this probably represents about 2% of the interview slots, and there are still 98% of the slots up for grabs. Don't let your mind play tricks on you. There are plenty of IIs left to be sent out, and you'll probably be receiving some of them.
