Has Pain Lost its Rizz?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Match rates are down, and the KOLs look tired and bored. Most of their LinkedIn posts look AI-generated. And now Ballantyne, Chou, and the OG UW PROPster crowd are saying spine procedures are skibidi toilet.

What's next?
Multisociety paper to refute their nonsense.
PRP for cash for you.
More kypho with Osteopearl for me.

Interventional pain is definitely losing its rizz

Insurance companies are catching on and calling many procedures experimental (SIJ fusion, minuteman, etc)

Many companies are slashing their Prof Ed budgets

Nevro and Vertos are dead, more to come soon I’m sure

But but but you can make $600-800k working general anesthesia...just ignore the fact that it's 55-60 hours per week.

If I worked 1.5 FTEs, I'd make more money, too. Funny how that works.

I’ll do interventional pain until either I die or it dies.

Whichever happens, I’ll just go back and do anesthesia again.
