Has the loan amount increased?

when I called salle mae I was told that as of July 1 2008 the amount of stafford loan increased to 47,000. My school had no such info. Anybody else hear about this?

I was only able to take out 38,300 or something like that in unsubsidized Stafford loans this year... which is increased, but not by enough.
