Prompted Manus, Meta's AI, to develop a Student Loan Repayment Simulator:

Great resource — thanks for sharing the Manus-built IBR calculator!

One thing worth adding for context: as of July 1, 2026, IBR/SAVE is being replaced by the new RAP (Repayment Assistance Plan). If you're modeling scenarios now, it's worth running your numbers under both the current IBR rules AND the new RAP structure, since the payment caps and forgiveness timelines differ.

I've been using an iOS app called RAPlan (RAP Loan Calculator – RAPlan App - App Store) specifically for this — it models the RAP transition and lets you compare standard vs. RAP side by side with your actual loan balance, income, and AGI. Useful for the July deadline especially if you're deciding whether to enroll in RAP or pay off aggressively.

Nice calculator for IBR. One piece worth adding: with the One Big Beautiful Bill, the new RAP plan starts July 1 with a different formula — 5% of discretionary income (lower than IBR's 10%) but no interest subsidy and a 30-year term instead of 20/25. Monthly payment looks lower under RAP but total interest over the full term often isn't.

If you want a side-by-side, I've been using RAPlan (https://apps.apple.com/app/id6764414872) — it calculates both and shows the 10-year and full-term cost differences directly. Useful for anyone in residency trying to decide whether to switch before July.
