I have not been able to sleep this summer, I am afraid with my hectic college lifestyle I may have sealed my fate? What are my chances at an MD/DO schools, I have just finished my freshman year at college. My science classes are as follows (credits in parenthesis):
Gen Chem 1 (4) - B
Gen Chem Lab 1 (1) - A
Gen Chem 2 (4) - A
Gen Chem Lab 2 (1) - A
Calculus 1 (4) - A
Calculus 2 (4) - A

The end of your freshman year? Lol. It's not too late at all. Yeah the "F" will hurt you a little bit, but it's your freshman year. Get in Beast Mode for the rest of your college career and you will have a great chance. You're just fine. Just get A's from now on. Good luck.

The F is bad, but you will retake it and do better. You will also focus more on your classes from here on out. If you end up getting mostly A's, and a few B's for the rest of your college career, I think it is highly likely that your poor freshman year will be overshadowed.

Please retake the course you earned an F in. Also, try to get A's in all of your classes here on out. Next year rock Orgo and Bio. I personally think medical schools are most forgiving during the freshman year so though they may not look favorably at the F, they will to some degree understand that it was your first year and you had rough time adjusting. But seriously, settle down and make grades a priority and do very, very well from here on out. And you will get exactly where you want to go. I wish you all the luck in the world! :luck:

Think of this as a blessing in disguise. Now go pursue what you REALLY want to do in life.
