I know MI has given out about 100 interviews or so. I have not heard anything from them yet and I applied pretty early. 2nd batch. When i called them they told me its still too early to call it and that i can hear anything about an invite from now until 6 weeks from now. I have a decent gpa 3.67 and dats of 19/19/22. Does anyone know of someone who heard later like october or november for an interview and still get in?
Im really bummed so far..

i haven't heard from them either. first batch. 3.88/3.81. 21AA/20TS/22 PAT

I haven't heard either. 3.94/3.9 and 21/20/19. I'm starting to worry a little bit.

Nothing here either.... 3.84/3.77 with a 23AA/24TS/21PAT :scared:

I haven't heard a thing and I'm not sure I will. I have below average stats and applied late. 3.3 gpa, 22 AA and Aug 12th mailout date (but app complete on 9/9).

Think there is even a remote shot? It's my in-state school so I'm pretty down about my chances.

hey guys, wondering if any mich people could take a look at my stats and let me know how competitive I am for Mercy. I know about how random UMich is with picking people but I feel like I should have a pretty good chance with Detroit despite applying Aug 26.

Hmmm with my stats I am wondering how I have an interview. I am oos with 3.67 ogpa and 3.74bcp. But I do oral cancer research so i guess that probably helps since they are heavy on research wit the DDS/PhD program

Yep. They love to see research. Also, apparently being oos doesn't hurt your chances of landing an interview, just your chances of gaining acceptance after it's over. A school rep has told a couple sdners this.

hellopeople,

do you have the link to this article?

I guess I can look. There was one last year and one this year. Let me see if I can find either. It's not an article though. I'm just taking this from posts from these forums.

Same boat here. I am a Michigan resident, Mich is my top choice, applied early (june 15), and haven't heard a thing! I even shadowed a dentist who is on faculty there and he wrote my LOR!!

I've gotten interviews at places like UCSF, Columbia, Penn, Maryland, but nothing from Michigan!?!? That was the only place I was confident that I would get an interview....real ironic.

But sounds like there are some other highly qualified people in the same boat, so hopefully they got some interview invites up their sleeves.

I'm just hoping I hear soon.....😱

I have 3.91 GPA, 3.89sci, 22TS/ 22 AA DAT/ 17 PAT, some research exp.

If it makes any of you feel any better, I haven't heard anything either.

I have a friend, who is a dentist, who is a 3rd generation graduate from MI, who called and spoke to the school.

I have honors research, a paper that is about to be submitted, a high GPA, good DAT scores..

Its perplexing to say the least.

wow, that is really strange. Are you a Michigan Resident too?

dont worry too much! sometimes how early you turn in your app does not necessarily mean you get an earlier interview date.

last year i was 2nd batch, and got into the last interview date (in january?). I was OOS and had no research. i think they told us that they don't look at state residency for interview, but they do look at it post-interview when they look to accept you.

just be glad you turned in your stuff really early, because i think they stop reviewing after they reach their quota for interview slots...seems pretty much rolling admissions and first come first serve.

hope this helps!
