I had a letter from an MD

i had an lor from a DO. any other questions, pm me!

My letter came from a DO, although I think I could have gotten just as good or perhaps even better recommendation from an MD. Pick one who you think will best represent your abilities.

I had a letter from an MD ortho. The type of medical license your recommender has really doesn't matter. They just want to know if you have had clinical experience and what your recommender thought of you.

Let me put it this way: If they are looking at your application and like you and are trying to decide if they want to accept you or not, they are NOT going to say 'well everything in this application is great... except... this letter from an MD... oh well, I guess we will give the spot to someone else!'

Don't worry about who your letter is from, just get one.

2 MDs (one is my research boss, the other is the doc i shadow)

Does MD/DO Letter have to be from someone you shadowed or worked with in a clinical setting? Can it be from research or from an academic advisor?

Someone that knows you well and can illustrate who you are beyond your transcripts and test score. I'm not sure there are many academic advisors who are MD/DO.

i had both a DO and MD. DO i shadowed, and the MD was my family doc whom i've known a long time.
