Pretty self-explanatory, really. I saw a piece on CNN a few weeks ago about cheating in high school and how it was more prevalent among the 'gunners' than the D-students whom one might think would need to cheat. Thought it might make for an interesting thread. I cheated a couple of times back in high school and college, but it wasn't anything major. Anybody ever seen someone pulled out of the MCAT or something like that?

I can't pick never, but I didn't cheat in undergrad. What about HS or Jr High?

I'm in the same boat. I seem to remember doing something at least questionable on a quiz in middle school or HS...but for the life of me I can't remember exactly what it was now.

never on a test, never in college, never in med school

What about helping someone else cheat?
For example, intentionally keep your test to the side of your desk so it can be easily seen by your friend who sits behind you?

Same. I didn't give a poo about HS, but I did care about Undergrad.

In undergrad, I've had friends who asked me and I didn't help them. Simple as that.

yeah that's certainly cheating

Anything that your school has or would consider cheating, so I guess that would include pushing your paper to the right and leaning to the left for a friend. I can't figure out how to modify the poll now, so anybody looking to vote for high school/middle school should just pick "not since undergrad".

My high school had this thing called "top 25", or people with the highest gpas. Ir really was more like the top 25 cheaters.... I take that back. Probably only 2/3 of them cheated a lot.

Never cheated. I was the nerdy guy who used to study all the time and I thought all cheaters were scum. Fast forward to last week and I'm sitting in the Neuro exam, absolutely clueless and sitting beside a honours students. The thought crossed my mind and dear god it would have been so easy to cheat cause the invigilator was reading the newspaper but I didn't do it cause of my stupid conscience.

How about noticing that someone is looking over your shoulder copying your multiple choice answers then proceeding to incorrectly answer every single question then changing the answers of the incorrect questions after the cheater has turned in their exam?

Hahahaha that is some funnt $hit

This is a big issue that showed reared it's ugly head toward the end of my 2nd yr. We had your run of the mill cheaters, and there were some "stollen" test rings.

According to our student affairs dean (she did some research); nationally 78% cheat to get into med school and 58% cheat once in. That really sucks! These are the people I'll rely on some day? 👎

Wow. I thought people would cheat, but I had no idea that nearly 60% of med students may be cheating. Do you know where she got those stats? I'm just interested. My school has an "honor code" so students can take exams unsupervised. I often wonder if people cheat as they sit there and listen to their iPods...

Wow. I can't even comprehend cheating in med school! I mean I can understand why people would want good grades, but to compromise their integrity for it?! Not to mention if you can't pass it, you shouldn't! Personally, I would want to know where I'm weakest so that I could improve, for the benefit of future patients. I guess all those people also "cheated" in the interview ethics/integrity questions... Good idea for a poll, OP!

hahaha good for you!

Wow, I wonder who ever cheated on a standardized test. 👎

You're allowed to listen to iPods while taking tests? Niiice...

Yeah I miss my undergrad when we had honor code and I could listen to iPod and take tests at home. Man no iPod sucks during tests!

Take tests at home? Are they joking. I'd end up watching tv the whole time

 I have to admit I did this. I didn't want the individual scoring higher than me so I made sure of it. :meanie:

Done that before but I get bogged down trying to pick a wrong answer that wasn't blatantly wrong so that the culprit might catch on and ruin all my fun. Why do I think too much into things?

people got ****ed over at my school for cheating. And these last finals were crazy...monitoring how many times u use the bathroom and what not. how sad that this stuff goes on. 🙁

Yeah I heard about a couple of girls who wrote all sorts of stuff on their knees and thighs, they would go to the bathroom and sit there reading then coming back answering, dont know if it was a rumor though.
