SDN is not very photo-friendly, if you are wanting to upload a personal photo from your own comp. Unless as an attachment.
I'd probably be too shy. I'd especially never post a photo of myself, eek. But then I've never matched into a residency program before, so the excitement might be so great as to force me out of my shell.
Btw, this weekend was not a good time to be returning home from an interview--from the northeast no less! Thank god I was able to get home, albeit 12 hours later than expected.

I think once match day comes along, we can do whatever we want. I agree with deschutes that SDN is not a photo-friendly website so perhaps we should make a separate website as well. I'm not web-savvy but I heard that yaah is (in addition to all the other rumors about yaah floating out there). And since he's moderator, it is not only implied that he should do this, it is his duty and job that he imperatively do this 
Photos should be optional and if people feel similarly to stormjen and myself, then this whole idea may not fly...but it's up to you all. In any case, we can post the results on here.

A good way to post pics, apart from using attachments, is to register at a site like photobucket.com or another. You can leave them up temporarily - what you do on the site is post it like any other image, the website you upload the pic to will give you the URL for it. When you want to get rid of it you can just go back and change the link so it doesn't work or something.
I don't think it's necessary to post pics unless you want to - knowing where people are going though is interesting to know - I know some people are concerned about anonymity and all that but frankly unless you are on here giving away trade secrets and bomb recipes then it really doesn't matter. No one cares. It's just us. And so what if others find out?

Trade secrets and bomb threats aside, I think part of the concern re: anonymity is that some of us are not as diplomatic, glib or well-thought-out (you can see I'm fishing for words here) as others, and in a moment of temporary inducible insanity may misrepresent ourselves in a way that might (oh slippery slope!) harm our career prospects in the long term. Everyone's level of offendedness is so different. And not everyone who is offended speaks out here.
On a positive note, being able to post a pic often denotes accountability. (Which is not to say that someone who didn't, isn't a pillar of society!)
Keep in mind that once one posts one's residency institution, it tends not to be too hard to Google a name (and a pic).
So if someone really wanted to get you, chances are you are going to be bitten in the behind whether or not you post a pic!
I think I might just go with posting my pic as part of the whole Match celebration thingy. (Hopefully it will be a celebration!
