I have already graduated and it looks like if there are no exceptions made, I fall short of the behavioral science requirements of some DO schools. I would really prefer not to take a class now and take one during the summer before matriculation if I get accepted. Would schools be alright with this or would it hurt my application?

I didn't know there was a behavioral science requirement...maybe because I had it fulfilled without knowing. Go ask the schools you are applying to if you can apply anyway. Otherwise you can sign up for a community college course if you need it.

Worst case scenerio: Find a Behavorial Science that interests you, list it as Not Yet Taken...if you get in a school that requires it and makes you sign a "acceptance upon completion" you have to take 1 more class...woopdeedoo. If you get in a school that doesn't,require it you don't take it.

I don't know of any schools that demand you have all prereqs completed prior to application. You do, however, need to have all prereqs completed prior to starting classes.

When I applied, LECOM and NSUCOM sent me a letter telling me that I had not yet completed 2 credits of an Organic chem lab and 6 credits of a behavioral science. When I got their acceptances, there was a line that said "this is contingent upon your completion of the aforementioned credits before matriculation." I had a question about the behavioral sciences classes, so I contacted LECOM (my choice) and got them to tell me what exactly counted with them as a Behavioral science course. According to my University I had completed those credits. I explained which classes they were and LECOM got back to me saying that I had, in fact, completed the credits already. I took my Orgo lab my senior spring semester and sent them the transcripts. Now I can matriculate.

Just get the stuff completed before you matriculate and you'll be fine.
