having everything sent out by the end of aug a disadvantage?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In SDN-land, yes. In reality, probably. You'd best have credentials that look really good.

Most pre-dents are going to be telling you - YES - your application is late, blah, blah, blah. I know both times I applied to d-school, I submitted my application 'late' according to SDN standards - Aug in 1995 and mid-Sept in 2005. Both times, I still had all my interviews by mid-Nov and received all my acceptances on the Dec 1st selection. As long as you have competative stats, you will most likely get interviews before the cut-off for the Dec1st selections.

What you need to realize is that SDN is filled with type A gunners. So, if you didn't submit your application within the first month, you are late in their eyes. Relax, you will be fine.

Thanks for replying Navy. We need a sticky to this reply. You sure are building up the post count by replying with the post over and over. 😉

It's only early August and people are freaking out. I would imagine these threads would become more frequent, and with more anxious posts as time passes.

My application is completed but i anticipated taking my DAT end of the month.. i know its definitely not early but would I still have a chance of getting December interviews? I also dont have the best GPA in the world... does that mean my admission chances decreased? By a lot? :scared:

DAT scores will take a couple weeks to get in so mid to late September? Also, your other stats really make a difference. DAT/GPA? "not the best GPA in the world" is relative

Ive been reading a lot of posts about how applying late (anywhere from august and on) is not a big deal if you have a good gpa/dat score.. However, I have a gpa of 3.10 both science and non-science and really need to kill on the dat to have a shot at admission.. I understand that applying earlier is always better but im just wondering if taking the DAT late (end of august) and virtually getting my application completed in September with a not so impressive GPA hurt my chances?
