I'm looking to apply to pharmacy school this upcoming cycle, and I only recently decided that I want to apply. I have a BS in Biology and am taking the PCAT in July. I have experience in the health care field with volunteering at several hospitals over the years.

I am having trouble right now with finding a way to either shadow a pharmacist or volunteer at a pharmacy. I am also trying to become certified as a pharm tech and have applied for that position at several pharmacies, but I want to get some experience soon so that I can get a LOR from a pharmacist. I do have some close friends who are pharmacists, but they don't live close to me, and I'm not sure if I would be allowed to get a LOR from them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Well I know retail settings are not so into having volunteers so your best bet would be to volunteer at a hospital pharmacy.

The best places that I have found are locally owned independent pharmacies. I volunteer as a pharm tech at one currently.

Also try networking with friends and family, ask around to see if they know anybody in the pharmacy field.

pharmacy is the easiest of any field to get exp in. just go be a tech
