I am currently taking an upperlevel biology class during my gap year. It was not needed for dental school and I thought I would take it because I thought I would do well in it and thought it would only help my GPA. The problem is that our class average is around a 55% which is an F or D+ and I currently have one of the highest averages if not the highest and have around a 78% in the class which is only a C+. Even with the low averages our professor is not curving the class and I feel like I'm being robbed. It's hard to believe that when the averages are an F on the exams he won't curve a little bit. I'm just extremely worried that I'll be getting a C+ which would lower my GPA and am kind of furious since I did not necessarily have to go through this in the first place since I had already completed all my pre reqs. Anyone know how I can best approach this problem?

You will have to approach your department. I don't know how your University/college is like but many HAVE to have a curve. So a professor cant fail half his class and expect to keep his job. Speak with the chairperson or whoever is in charge.

If the average is an F, he's got to curve it. I HIGHLY doubt he's failing the whole class.

Either he's going to curve it or this isn't the whole truth. Professors have quotas for grades they have to reach. He is going to have to curve the grades.
