Anybody seen it? What did you all think?
I don't have premium cable, and my provider wasn't offering the free preview last weekend. If it's any good, or if it's something that reisdents & med students (or patients, for that matter) would benefit from seeing I'll probably just drop the $22.49 at Amazon and get it myself.

Haven't seen it, but heard it was great. I was told that HBO is offering it for free on its website?

Here's the link I was given:

hbo.com/addiction/thefilm/index.html

haven't seen it yet and am not sure this works...

The parts I've watched online were pretty good. Although I have to wonder why, when they were filming the segment in the Parkland ER, why they didn't walk 10 feet down the hall to document the craziness that of the psych ER...

Another excellent documentary is the Frontline episode "The Meth Epidemic" which is also available online:

Haven't seen it. Could've but got Step III in less than a week!

Have though seen plenty of HBO's other stuff and their undercover stuff is great. I was thinking of showing the Atlantic City Hookers documentary to the program because it does have a lot of clinical relevance.

I thought it was very well done (the parts that I've seen), though parts of it really seemed like a pharma advertisement because of how much they talked about the treatment options. One of these days I'll watch the entire thing.

I had seen 25 minutes of the first episode at a screening with our county anti-drug program. From what I saw, I felt it was very well done. Enough "shock value" to grab interest with a lot of education. It was de-stigmatizing. The medical model of addiction was presented in a way most people could understand. It also touched on the underappreciation in legislature.
