Not sure if i am cheap but don't want to pay for cable and had it turned off. I had to look for a way to cut down cos i live alone. I don't like the roommate thing. Now my house is too quiet.
Anyway my tv is HDTV monitor, i'm thinking i could get a tuner and watch free stations. Also not sure if the HD-DVD players or PS3 comes with tuner.
I'm sure there are some tech savvy ones in pharmacy school

If it isn't built in, you can get a tuner and bust out the rabbit ears. Pretty sure HD-DVD players and the PS3 can't be used as a tuner though.

Just get an HDTV tuner for your PC and add on an antenna. Then you should be fine as long as you can get a good signal.

Since PS3 is essentially a souped up computer w/ Blu-Ray, there's probably a way for you to install Linux by partitioning the PS3 HDD and use one of the USB ports for an HDTV tuner.

Just make sure you do not waste your money on a HD-DVD player. It is will be gone soon enough. Studios are going the BluRay way and HD will be dead as Betamax soon. Sony lost with betamax but won with bluray. If you want super tech savvy information check out www.avsforum.com , thos epeople know their ****.

I was just about to say this. A few of the major production companies are using HD-DVD and it's a split, but blu-ray's the future...

You'll need a tuner. You can probably pick up a stand-alone tuner for between $100-150. You'll also need an amplified antenna to pick up the signal. Not all areas of the country have good coverage yet for broadcast HDTV. Go to this website to get advice on choosing an antenna:

Just pirate DirecTV signals. It's not that hard. You just have to have a hookup with the proper card codes....

Hmm this sounds tempting. How do i get this signal and do i have to get a DirectTv box.
I finally got a stand alone tuner and an indoor amplified RCA antenna. I can not go to my roof and do wiring stuff. The antenna is not giving enough channels and shows weak signals.

Just take a VHS video camcorder, stick it in front of your friend's TV, video tape things, take the video, run it through a VCR hooked up to your PS3...watch said video. There you go. Ooohh...I wonder if I get a warning for suggesting that. :scared:
