1. I am not a Best Buy advocate. I just draw my ****ty minimum wage paycheck from them.

2. They offer the same "trash" that amazon does. Amazon just buys it from manufacturers overseas and can pass on $5 savings. Best Buy is a greedier company called "retail store." Amazon makes up for their loss in profits with adverts.

3. You clearly don't know much about electronics. Best Buy offers top of the line brands, as well as ****ty brands. If you buy the cheaper stuff like Dynex or Rocketfish, you will surely have wasted your money. Bose is top of the line no matter what you're talking about.

4. You're a dick

Why would I or most people our age go to a retail store when you can buy the exact same product for anywhere from 10-30% cheaper? The savings are much more than the "$5" you say. I would never, ever buy anything from Best Buy. For me, Best Buy serves the wonderful purpose of giving me the chance to look at and touch products before I go buy them online elsewhere for much cheaper.

Here are some good examples of why Best Buy sucks. These are random products that I looked up on Best Buy and found the corresponding product on Amazon:

Samsung 50" 1080p, 120 Hz LED TV:
Best Buy: $1399 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung...HDTV/4837507.p?id=1218540190995&skuId=4837507)
Amazon: $1197.99 (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN50E...qid=1345303872&sr=8-3&keywords=UN55ES6100FXZA)

Toshiba Blu-Ray Player:
Best Buy: $79.99 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba...ayer/5215183.p?id=1218712346741&skuId=5215183)
Amazon: $69.36 (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-BDX23...e=UTF8&qid=1345304129&sr=1-1&keywords=BDX2300)

Monster 4m HDMI cable:
Best Buy: $69.99 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Monster...able/5227819.p?id=1218626385199&skuId=5227819)
Amazon: $13.99 (http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cable...TF8&qid=1345304317&sr=1-2&keywords=HDMI400-4M)

I'm sorry that your employer is a terrible corporation that is simply biding its time before it hemorrhages enough cash to finally bleed to death. I'm not sure why you're offended as I didn't say anything about you. Unless you're someone that absolutely must have a product THAT DAY, you can save a TON of money by buying big ticket items (especially electronics) online. Let's also not forget that those prices are pre-tax in the case of Best Buy, so you can add 5-10% onto the price to pay for that, which isn't a problem with Amazon (at least for now).

Also, if you think Bose headphones are "the top of the line," you really don't know what you're talking about. They're status symbols that scream, "yeah, I spent $200+ on headphones." Bose does produce some good products, and if you're looking for the best headphones with noise cancelling technology, then sure, you probably can't go wrong picking up a pair. However they most certainly do not make the highest quality headphones available, and you can buy headphones without explicit noise cancelling technology that do a pretty damn good job of clocking noise out by being well built.

I'm guessing you also think Monster cables are the best possible cables you can buy, too.

But if he works at bestbuy he gets a pretty awesome discount.

I'm not sure what Best Buy's situation is, but I never got good discounts when I worked at stores. Maybe I just worked at the crappy ones. I think when I worked in electronics at Sears we got maybe 10% off retail. Much like Best Buy, their prices are so high that even with our "discount" buying from them would be a silly choice.

👍 I don't know why anyone would buy from best buy unless they're in need of something immediately. Free two-day shipping with an Amazon Prime student account is pretty amazing, I buy all of my processed foods off Amazon too.

High School level personal attack right there

I was told by a friends that worked at best buy that they got cost + 10%. So if an item cost the store $100 to buy, but sold it for $200 to its customers, they would get it for $110. Thats a pretty steep discount IMO. (this was a few years ago, so it may be different now)

But yeah, there is no reason to go to best buy these days unless you want to see a product in person before you buy it.

PS: I own Bose QC15's and I will even concede they are not the best, but I do like them.

I love my ultimate ears triple fi's. The in-ear monitors are easy to carry around and do an amazing job at blocking out most outside noises. Sound quality is amazing as well.
