"The ADA, which administers the DAT and OAT exams, is changing software in late January or early February; the firm dates have not yet been determined. During this time, registration for taking the exams and applications for obtaining DENTPIN id#s will not be available. Score processing and score reports will also be shut down during this time. ADA anticipates ~1 week for the transfer to the new software system.

There will be no effect on test dates and administration of the tests in January and February.

Bottom line, if you need to register for the DAT or OAT in the next month or 2, or if you need an official copy of your score report, you should probably act as soon as possible. Students planning on taking the exams in late spring or summer should not need to take any special action at this time."

Good looks

Wait, if I'm taking my DAT this Friday and score processing/reports will be shut down late January, should I worry if my scores get sent/saved/etc?

Since they are changing the software, does that mean DAT will be harder after February? (like adding more tough science questions and challenging reading passages?)

software, not content.

Interesting... I wonder if the software change will be beneficial to test takers or not... maybe a better on-screen calculator or maybe less pixelated PAT...

I believe theyll be adding new, experimental questions. The PAT should have questions that look ridiculous, and will not be counted in your score because theyll just be experimental. We are human guinea pigs so to say. Anyone have any more info on this?
