Hi everyone!
I would like to read up on the effect of HMO's on modern medicine, as well as become more acquainted with controversial health care issues. I went to amazon.com but there are just too many titles to browse through! So I was wondering if anybody out there had some great suggestions for books on these subjects! Also, I wanted to read up on osteopathic medicine and was all set to order "The DO's" but found out that it was out of stock. Does anyone know of other books that would give me a great background, and preparation, for osteopathic interviews? I would appreciate any suggestions, believe me!

For two great books on HMOs, check out the following titles:

Health Against Wealth by George Anders and Demanding Medical Excellence by Michael Millenson.

As for books on osteopathic history, check out the Osteopathic Medicine premedical FAQ and call the number listed for the Still National Osteopathic Museum. You can probably order a copy of The DOs directly from them.

Good luck.
