I took 5 Health courses in undergrad and was wondering if they fall under the "other sciences" category. I looked them up on the course subject page of AACOMAS but wasn't too sure what they would be classified as. All 5 courses have the department prefix "HLT" for Health, so not sure if it will be included in my science GPA.

AACOMAS Course Subjects:

I called AACOMAS twice but the reps weren't too sure how to go on about this, they told me to classify it as best I could.

HLT - Personal Health
HLT - Intro to Public Health
HLT - HLT Behavior Theory & Practice
HLT - Health of the Elementary child
HLT - Health Promotion & Disease Prevention

When looking into the Course Subjects page on AACOMAS, I saw that Health fell under the "Other Science" category. I'm not sure if all of these courses would be counted as part of my Science GPA, since the department prefix is HLT, I'm thinking it may be but not quite sure. When I looked more into it, I saw that "Personal Health" fell under the "Non-Science" category and "Public Health" was under the "Other Sciences" category.

I'm thinking that only "Intro to public Health" may be considered as a science course while "personal health" may be considered a non-science. The other health courses may be counted as Non-Science as well. However, I'm not too sure and was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation?

Your 2nd and 5th classes there would definitely count. The others by course name itself are kinda 50/50 but I'd lean to the "yes it will count" side since the Health prefix is on each of them. Just count them however it benefits you. You won't be penalized by any changes they make.

Thats what I was thinking as well, theres no real penalty but I kind of wanted an idea of what my sGPA could be with these courses. I was just reading the part where AACOMAS says:

"AACOMAS uses a standardized list of course subjects which cover the majority of classes you may be taking. AACOMAS uses these subjects to then determine which Course Subject GPA Category your courses will factor into. If you cannot determine which AACOMAS Subject to choose based on your course’s title, please default to the department the course is offered through. During the verification process, AACOMAS will change any AACOMAS Subjects which it deems have been incorrectly listed. Your application will not be undelivered for listing the incorrect AACOMAS Subject."

Hoping they count as part of my science GPA.
