Hi, i'm currently a junior in honors biochem undergrad wanting to apply to med school my senior year and I've been thinking about doing academic reprieve on a semester/year (my sophomore year) because of serious health issues I had. I was extremely sick due to an autoimmune problem and I have finally gotten it under control. My grades could have been worse but they are not on par with my normal work and are not on par with what I see as med school ready. If i do academic reprieve and retake all of these classes will that look bad for med schools or can I explain the reason why in my application?I also feel like I need to retake them because I did not get a firm grasp on the material due to my illness.
thanks
