Heard of a job like this?

Have you guys ever heard of anesthesiologists working in the ICU every 4-5 weeks, and being in the OR the rest of the time? I've heard they do this so as to not burn out as an intensivist, and the OR side pays better anyways. Feedback?

We have that here with one of our general guys and two of our pedi guys doing 2 weeks anesthesia, 2 weeks critical care, or 4 and 4. Have heard of this elsewhere as well.

Yah, i see it here at U. of Rochester too. But anyone hear of it in private practice?
