Hello Everyone!

I landed on this forum the other day, and i must say IT'S A WONDERFUL SITE!. I've learned so much by just reading all the post in the forum. 🙂 Thank you all for sharing your experiences with all of us. I just want to tell you guys about myself...and where i'm currently standing. Hope you guys can give me some feedback. I'm currently a student in North Carolina. I'm trying to finish all my Prereq. by the end of Spring 07. I will also be applying this Fall of 06...hoping to get accepted for Fall of 07 class. I've just registered for the PCAT the other night (taking it this June 24th). Which lead me to this question: I know PCAT offers you a list of schools where you can have you PCAT scores send to...am i ONLY suppose to pick schools that are NOT with the PharmCAS system? Please someone clarify that for me b/c i happened to pick severals schools that are already with PharmCAS. (i wasn't sure of what to do).

Anyways..here are the list of schools that i will be applying to.

UNC, Wingate, Campbell (cause i'm from North carolina 🙂
Univeristy of Charleston
Texas A&M Univeristy-kingsville
Texas Southern Univeristy College of Pharmacy
Touro
Appalachia
Southern Nevada
Pacific
VA commonwealth
Shenandoah
University Illinois of Chicago
University of South Carolina
Massachusetts college of pharmacy
NOVA....

........I might be adding more, just to increase my changes of gettin in. This is going to cost me a soooo much money...i'm getting depress just thinking about it actually.

How much in Total did you guys spend on the whole application process...and was it worth it in the end?

Your response is much appreciated...i'm looking forward to meet all of you and be an active member of this forum!

When you select PHARMCAS as a recipient it covers all the Schools that you'll have to apply thru PHARMCAS. Thus it is not necessary to select the individual schools in this cat.

You are allowed 3 transcripts in the 105 fee. So You could choose Pharmcas + 2 other schools. You would then have to pay 20 extra per any additional school.

Now if you have already submitted your PCAT application, I don't know how you would change any school you wish to send a transcript. Give Harcourt a call and see. :luck:

i dont know the answer to your question but that is a lot of schools! i spent about $250 on apps but i only applied to 2 schools. good luck! 😀

I spent approximately $500 on just the application fees for 4 schools, meaning PharmCAS fees and supplemental applications as well. In addition to that, it costed me an additional $200 or so to travel to an interview. The other interview was close enough for me to drive to. 🙂

Best wishes to you! :luck:

I'm a pharmacist in CA & don't have any insight to offer on your application question, but I will offer you a welcome!

I just transferred 12 prescriptions from my pharmacy to a pharmacy in Durham, NC where a family of mine moved. I had a great chat with the pharmacist there (one of the benefits of transferring rxs!).

We shared our professional situations....I didn't know there are places in NC where employers are forcing pharmacists out of jobs because of lack of Pharm.D's! I've spent lots of time thinking on that....a whole other thread!!!

I have really come to appreciate NC & their friendliness since my daughter moved there to go to medical school. You are in a beautiful & very friendly state - welcome again! (totally off topic!!!)

Good luck!
