Hello I'm new to the forum. I'm interested in occupational therapy. I have a bachelors in health service management from Wichita State University. I'm going to knock out 100 hours of observation. I haven't taken Human Anatomy and Physiology and Physics. People keep telling me I don't have a chance. Anything is possible right???My overall gpa is not that great 3.11. The schools that I'm interested in are:

Rockhurst University
University of North Dakota
Brenau University
University of Findlay
University of South Dakota

I don't want to take the GRE! I'm in my late twenties. I plan on applying next fall. I was wondering do I have a chance of getting in??? Is there some advice you can give me?? Please and Thank you

You most definitely have a chance! I don't know who tells people things like that...seriously. There are plenty of schools which are a bit less competitive who look at much more than just GPA. Plus...while not great, your GPA is above the cutoff for most OT programs: 3.0. And if you do well in prerequisite courses your prerequisite GPA can be higher. It won't be easy and I would recommend applying to many less competitive schools since OT programs are already over-saturated with competitive applicants. Many programs don't require you to of completed all your prerequisite coursework before applying, just prior to matriculation. WIth that said, your three courses are three important ones Anatomy and Physiology being the most important. Good Luck!

You will have to take the GRE for USD

You need to take the prerequisites. Almost all PT schools require you to take physics. Some schools (such as UNT) do not require the GRE. I don't know how you expect to get into any PT school without anatomy. I'm pretty sure anatomy and physiology is a requirement for every single PT school in america and I am not exaggerating. It is most likely required for every single program. You have to take Anatomy, Physics, and Chemistry.

You didn't understand my question. I looking into Occupational therapy not Physical Therapy. I know I have to take Anatomy!!! I'm enrolled in Physics and Anatomy.

Having all your prerequisites done before you apply is one way to be a better candidate.
