I've just received a notice for the enrollment process from USN and I'm sure the others that are admitted this coming Fall have/will have gotten theirs too...the notice also includes several options of lenders for student loan (Nelnet Loan, Key Bank, US Grad Loan, Med Invest, 1st Student, and Teri)...There are so many options...I've never applied for a loan before...I don't know from which one to choose... 😳 ...
For the students that are currently attending USN...do you have any advice for the newcomers about this?
Thanks in advance for your response... 😀

I have KeyBank ( no cosigners required) simply I don't want my parents to worry about me anymore. However, KeyBank is compounding interest, which really sucks. I recommend NelNet Loan (which needs cosigners) if you don't want high interest at the end.

The others i am not familiar with.

Congrats! Why can't you use the same loans every else gets? (Stafford)

Unaccredited schools do not qualify for Federal Loans. Therefore students must find other financial institutions to provide school loans. I read on the USN website that they have just been granted provisional license by the state. So I assume federal loans are given when everything is official??

hello there,
This is what I found on the school (usn)'s website:
The American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) Board of Directors awarded full accreditation to the Doctor of Pharmacy program of the University of Southern Nevada at its January 15 - 18, 2004, meeting. The term of accreditation lasts through June 30, 2006, which is the customary two-year term awarded to new programs upon reaching full accreditation for the first time. It should be noted, however, that decisions concerning eligibility for licensure, by examination or reciprocity, reside with the respective state boards of pharmacy in accordance with their state statutes and administrative rules.

I was told the same thing at the interview with the school...I far as I know, they are currently working on regional accreditation, which will grant us elligible for stafford loan...untill then, there are many lenders working with the school to assist the students getting loans... 🙂

It appears that ACPE is not the problem. I guess I was lucky that I didn't have problems because my school is SACS accreditited.
